A Flash from the Past: Design Tips from an Iconic 70’s Show

Kaye Puckett 500x500 Article by Kaye Puckett – Interior Designer
When talking about interior design we usually think about the latest trends, function and aesthetics. Sometimes we can use interior design to recreate fond memories. HGTV recently decided to do just that. If this house at 11222 Dilling Street in North Hollywood, California looks familiar…it should…it was the home featured in all of the exterior shots for the 1970’s hit TV show, The Brady Bunch. Since the house is on the market after nearly 50 years, HGTV decided to bring back the nostalgia and renovate the interior of the home to match that of the studio set where so many of the memorable scenes took place. The renovation is underway thanks to a team of designers, contractors and the original cast of the Brady kids.

As most of us are hunkered down at home right now, we’ve been finding comfort and passing the time by watching and remembering many of these shows from earlier days. The renovation team was incredible…they paid great attention to every detail. Furnishings were sourced through antique stores and donated by past viewers and fans. What the team could not find, they made. Please have fun taking a trip down memory lane with these before and after photos from HGTV.
